Hi, friend welcome to my list of curated outdoor, small wedding venues in Washington State for the adventure your wedding day deserves! 

Adventure is different for everyone and doesn’t have to be on a trail.

What does adventure mean, especially on a wedding day? It’s doing something that would bring you and your partner joy. It’s not just a climb to epic mountain tops, but can be everyday things that really speak to you and make you feel like you’re doing something fun. It can be activities you both love doing together, but it can also be a unique space you find that you LOVE and want to get married at!

Booking small wedding venues in Washington State can add to your adventure, plus give you other help you might not have thought of! 

We are lucky to have the geography we have around – mountains, oceans, deserts, etc! And the cool thing is some wedding venues have taken advantage of these elements and can bring you a wedding experience in the mountains, without needing to go on a hike to get some amazing views or experience. Venues can still be in the mountains, can still be next to lakes, can still be on Mount Rainier, and can even be in treehouses!

While you can (and I highly encourage time alone to adventure and do private vows together) you can keep your adventure to a single venue for the day and have more of a traditional experience on a smaller scale.

There are so many reasons why having a venue will help your day!

Amenities

Many times venues have a bunch of things included in their packages such as decor, dressing rooms, kitchens, catering, rehearsal dinner space, bartenders, tables, chairs linens, bathrooms, etc!

You can invite your guests without worrying about their abilities.

Were you trying to figure out how some of your older guests could be at your wedding? Many venues are ADA accessible and are perfect if you just can’t skip having certain family members there.

Venues are easier with more people.

There is less to coordinate with amenities all in one spot. So your guests won’t need to wander or worry. They can just celebrate with you!

Venue Staff Onsite

A venue coordinator can help make sure that everything with the venue and even coordinate catering – so you don’t need to worry about it!

You still want to stay traditional

If you are looking for adventure and tradition, why not both? You can still have a beautiful, intentional celebration on your terms at a venue!

Guaranteed Privacy

Many times if you’re out on a trail looking for an adventurous wedding, it’s a public space and you’re not guaranteed to have privacy. A venue can provide that for you!

Things to look for when searching for your small wedding venues in Washington State.

  • Many times venues are built to hold tons of people, so ask them: Have you had small events here? How have you arranged the space so that it doesn’t feel empty? Skip ballrooms (you won’t see any ballrooms in my list below.) They are meant to hold hundreds of people so when you don’t fill the space, it feels so empty and odd.
  • Gorgeous curated spaces that fit your vibe and can be transformed into your dreams
  • If their website lacking in wedding photos or a photo vibe that isn’t your style, try googling “VENUE + Wedding.” Chances are there are photographers who have blogged about other weddings at these places so you can see some better ideas of the space.
  • Do they have getting-ready spaces for you and your partner? That makes it even easier to have everything in one place.
  • Decor, tables, linens, chairs that you can use!
  • Is there anything fun and different about the venue you think is cool or would add an extra element to your day? (ie there’s one place below with ziplining, another with yurts where couples have had day-of wedding yoga sessions, another with camping access.)

Remember: You can still adventure on your own

Just because you rent a venue doesn’t mean you can’t adventure. Take some time by yourselves to participate in an activity you want to do, read private vows elsewhere, and then return to celebrate and maybe do a larger ceremony for the rest of your guests 🙂 I personally have photography packages that help you adventure and also packages that are specifically for elopements at venues!

Alright fam, if you’ve made it this far you’re ready for venue suggestions. I’ve poured through the Knot and Google to find all these amazing wedding venues in Washington. I’ve purposefully left out ballrooms, castles, estates, etc because I want to show you options for the wedding of your dreams! It’s sorted by various vibes for your day. I’ve also called out if you can see certain iconic mountains!

Adventure Fun Vibe 

Omg OK these are definitely for adventures with family and friends and are some of my favorite options for epicness. Whether you have to truck up a dirt road, hang out and watch movies in the trees, zipline, or go boating etc – these options are SO fun for a little extra oomph to your day!

Cabin Retreat Vibes

Want your venue to feel like you’re on vacation in a cabin? Some even let you stay onsite!

Mountain Vibes

You want to plop yourself in an area with views all around – I don’t blame you!!

Farm to Table Vibes

Whether they actually have a restaurant or catering onsite or not, there’s a specific type of feel I think of when it comes to farm to table. I adore their organic, urethral, grounded, and intimate vibes! Also, 90% of the time probably has hanging bistro lights. 

Lavender Farms

Barn Vibes

Who doesn’t love a good barn wedding! I’ve chosen barn venues however that have a bit more patina and character!

Country Vibes

Just your good ole’ outdoor country meets wedding venue feel 😀 

Garden Vibes

Plants galore!! They take so much pride in making their gardens look beautiful! 

Forest Vibes

Imagine being in the middle of our gorgeous tall pine trees with ferns all around you!!

Water Vibes

Enthralled by water? Plenty of options with this!

State Park

You may not have thought about using a state park for your wedding, but they are sometimes some of the beautiful areas and have access to some beautiful views and beautiful structures! Not to mention, cheaper than a venue. This option will be more DIY, but there’s always an adventure in a state park! Not Convinced? I would highly suggest Google Searching “VENUE + Wedding” to see what you come up with on google – you can sometimes see beautiful representations of these spots from professional photographers!

Distillery/Coffee Roaster

Looooove me some beverage tasting. Alcohol itself is always an adventure! I personally love whiskey and love distilleries. 

Winery 

Wineries usually put a lot of thought into their interior designs creating natural backdrops and natural decor. They are naturally beautiful!
